Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking a private chef for your villa stay in Spain (Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Madrid & Barcelona). If your question isn't here, just ask.

The service

Michael provides a complete in-villa culinary service: menu planning, grocery sourcing and shopping, daily meal preparation (breakfast, lunch, dinner, or any combination), table service, and full kitchen clean-up after each session. He adapts to your schedule, your dietary requirements, and the rhythm of your holiday — so you never have to think about food.
This is fully flexible. The service can cover breakfast only, dinner only, or all meals throughout the day. We agree on the format during the booking consultation, and it can be adjusted during the stay based on your needs.
Michael works in the villa's kitchen using its existing equipment. He brings any specialist tools that may be needed. Most villa kitchens are fully equipped for professional use — if yours has any limitations, just let him know beforehand.
Yes, always. Full clean-up is a standard part of every service. You will never return to a dirty kitchen. This is part of the discreet, effortless experience the service is designed to provide.

Dietary & family

Yes. All allergies and intolerances are collected before the stay and managed rigorously throughout. Gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegetarian, vegan, and low-FODMAP options are all handled as a standard part of the service — not as an extra or a compromise.
Yes. Children's meals are prepared alongside adult dishes in the same cooking session — no separate service or additional timing needed. The menus for children are nutritious, familiar, and genuinely enjoyed, not just a concession to preference.
Yes. It is very common to serve a family where adults want a refined Mediterranean meal, children want something simpler, and one guest has a nut allergy or a gluten intolerance. Michael manages this without drama — it is the everyday reality of in-villa family hospitality.

Booking

For peak summer periods (June–September in Mallorca), 4–8 weeks in advance is recommended. For off-season stays, 1–2 weeks is usually sufficient. The earlier you enquire, the better the chance of securing your preferred dates.
Arrival and departure dates, number of adults and children, any known allergies or dietary restrictions, and the general type of service you want (daily meals, events, or both). Everything else is discussed and refined during a short consultation call or message exchange.
Yes. A deposit is required to confirm the booking. The deposit amount and payment conditions are shared in the booking proposal. Full details are included in the booking terms sent by email before confirmation.
Mallorca is the primary area of service. For stays in other Balearic Islands or special arrangements outside the island, please enquire directly — some arrangements may be possible depending on the dates and location.

Pricing

Pricing depends on the number of days, number of guests, meals included, and whether the service includes events. A tailored quote is provided after the initial enquiry — no fixed public rate card, as each stay is different. Contact Michael to receive a personalised proposal.
Groceries can be included in the service fee or managed as a separate, transparent budget — whichever suits the family better. Both options are discussed and agreed in the booking proposal.
